Newmans Lodge - Alpheton
A flexible B&B (camping a possibility subject to negotiation) only just opened but with years of experience behind the owners.
Presently offering a spacious twin room with "Juliet Balcony" looking down the valley across the fields back to the church and Alpheton Hall Barns.
Paul & Claire are long time friends of Carol & Nicholas and have just moved into the village having relocated from the Scottish Borders, where they had a flourishing B&B in addition to their ongoing specialist foods business.
Dinner or after wedding day lunch / entertainment can be arranged by Claire who is Cordon Bleu and who will cater for you and your guests.

Situate in Bridge Street part of which is in our little parish and located only a few fields away and recipient of our flood water being perched on the edge of the Chad Brook into which our fish ponds and moat drain. For those brave of heart and sober a delightful walk from the barns across country to this accommodation about 1 mile by sufaced tracks.

Only some 10 minutes away this hotel is situate looking over the River Stour and with its fascinating resturant complete with working water wheel, it is a must for those looking for something special. We have never stayed there but have had good feed back and they are said to give good discounts for block bookings, but don't tell them I said this!.

The Windmill Retreat "aka" Lady Grants Retreat
A new entry to our links page, but a must, it is where I first, saw / met / fell in love with, my wife at her 18th birthday party when she lived at the adjoining house. Very fond memories for me, but beware it has a certain magical charm which could be damaging to your batchelor-hood! We are dying to get reviews on this new entry, let us know your experiences! Ignore the "Street View" on the website is misses badly and lets it down. Seemingly very good value!
